Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine Part Testing
Duet Washer Drain Pump
- The washer's bottom panel can be removed for easy pump access by removing the 1/4" screws on the bottom edge of the washer front.
- The Duet washer drain pump has a coin trap that will hopefully catch anything you forgot to take out of your pockets.
- Before you open the drain pump try to remove as much water as possible from the washer with a shop-vac and have some towels ready.
- The drain pump should measure apx. 15.8Ω when checked with a multimeter from the DP2.1 and DP2.1 connections at the washer's main control board.
Duet Washer Motor and Motor Controller
- The Duet washer motor should measure apx. 8Ω across each of the 3 motor connections (1,2 & 3) when measured with a multimeter.
- The Duet washer motor has a built in tachometer (connections 4 & 5) which should normally measure about 115Ω
- The motor control unit gets 120 volts AC from the washer's main control at the MS2.1 and MS2.2 connections.
Duet Washer Temperature Sensor
- The Duet washer temperature sensor changes resistance values at the temperature changes. So in order to test the sensor you first need to know about what temperature it is... then use the chart below and a multimeter to see if it is within the correct range.
