If code appears again put it through an automatic diagnostic cycle while you enjoy a nice soothing cup of tea. (Click the video on the right for instructions) This will reveal any stored error codes. Then you will be able to better use the repair guide to fix the major malfunction. Now put the tea down and get to work!
"dU" Door/Lid cannot unlock (Stored Error Code F83)
Is there excessive weight on the lid, such as a basket of laundry that my keep the lock tab from moving back into the lid lock? Excessive weight will keep the lid from unlocking.
Is soap, fabric softener, or anything else keeping the lock from moving back into the lid lock?
The washer control board cannot determine if the lid lock is unlocked. Check lid lock connections to the control and lid lock resistance levels.
Press PAUSE/ CANCEL once to clear the code.
"F1" Primary Control Failure (Stored Error Code F60-F68)
F then 1 flashes when there is a primary control failure. This is a general code saying something within the control has gone wrong. Before you replace the machine control assembly unplug and reconnect all of the wire connections several times to make sure that they are making good contact. If that doesn't work try this link. "F2" Keypad/User Interface Failure (Stored Error Code F2)
F then 2 flashes when in:
• Diagnostics Test mode if a stuck key is detected.
• Standby mode if there is a user interface mismatch. More Information
"F40" ATC Thermistor Open/Short (Stored Error Code F40)
The F40 error code flashes on the washing machine's display when the washer control detects an open or shorted ATC Thermostat. The ATC Thermostat is located on the washing machine's water valve.

"F41" Motor RPS Thermistor Open/ Shorted (Stored Error Code F41)
The F41 error code flashes only during diagnostic testing on the washing machine's display if the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) thermistor is detected as open or shorted by the washing machines control.
"F50" (Stored Error Code F50) Motor Stalled
The F50 error code flashes on the washing machine's display when the
motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation.
Does the inner basket turn freely?
If not, make sure bottom shipping pack has been removed. Remove the inner basket and look for foreign object.
Determine the cause of any friction.

"F51" (Stored Error Code F51)
The F51 error code flashes on the washing machine's display when there is a motor rotor position sensor (RPS) failure.
Check for good contact at the control Board and at the RPS.
"F52" (Stored Error Code F52)
The F52 error code flashes on the washing machine's display when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses rotation after a stop command.

"F53" (Stored Error Code F53)
The F53 error code flashes on the washing machine's display when the washing machine control detects a high temperature at the motor.
Does the inner wash basket turn freely?
If not, determine the cause of friction.
"F54" (Stored Error Code F54)
The F54 error code flashes on the washing machine's display when the Washing machine control detects high current at the washer's motor.
Does the inner wash basket turn freely?
If not, determine the cause of friction.

"F72" (Stored Error Code F72)
The F72 error code flashes on the washing machine's display when the basket check routine fails to determine if the basket has re-engaged the basket hub after being disengaged.
Is the basket floating? If yes, pump out water. See Long Drain.
If not, determine the cause of friction.
